Erä-Eero has been operating in the North Karelia Biosphere Reserve since 1998. At first, we offered various outdoor activities such as rock climbing, canoeing and fishing trips, but after Eero build the animal observation hide in 2005 and the first photography hides soon after, the company has been focusing on wildlife observation and photographing.
Our main target is the wolverine, a shy and rare animal which is difficult to see in the wild. Over the years Erä-Eero has become famous as the best place to see wolverines in the world. They have even been featured in several international nature documentaries, for example, the BBC has filmed wolverine-related material at Erä-Eero.
Our goal is to offer everyone the opportunity to experience unique nature experiences. We here at Erä-Eero will welcome you with warm, uncomplicated North Karelian hospitality, whether you’ve seen the world as a professional photographer or are exploring the forest for the first time.
