Wolverines can be photographed all year round in pond and forest landscapes. Photography hides of various sizes are available in the forest landscape of Keljänpuro and in the pond landscape of Uuronlampi. It’s possible to take pictures from different shooting angles. There is one low-angle/ lay down opening in the middle photo hide at Uuronlampi. In other hides, the shooting openings are at sitting and standing height. All the hides have screws for attaching ball heads/gimbal heads, dry toilets and beds with bedsheets and pillows.
Shooting distance is about 3 to 80 meters, so you can use many types of cameras and lenses for filming. At dusk, it is good if you have wide aperture in your camera, but it is not an absolute requirement. Animals often move in the area also during good light, so you can get good pictures even with your mobile phone, for example.
You can get near the photography hides with your own car. The walking distance from the parking lot to the hides is 50-300 meters, depending on the area. In Uuronlampi, the photography hides are located on the shore line close the pond Uuronlampi, below a steep slope. Other photography hides are in a forest, a 300m walking distance from the Keljänpuro Lodge.
In winter the hides are heated by gas heaters. The weather can still surprise you even in summer, so it’s worth taking warm clothes with you.
We also have other filming locations, but in them wolverines and other animals move more randomly. You can get more information about these by phone or via the contact form.
